| From little things big things grow, and the seeds of Cookie have grown through the ceiling at Curtin House and spawned a bar and cinema on the rooftop. Take the elevator or earn your drinks by climbing the six flights of stairs to this stunning aerie above Swanston Street. The architecture and style of the bar is inspired by the laidback atmosphere of German beer gardens and the funk of New York rooftops. Looking down Swanston Street you can admire some of Melbourne's art deco history and architectural beauty. Pan further around and take in the high-rise lights of the top end of town, or watch the sunset sparkle off the Shot Tower cone. The German theme continues to the tap beers, but don't pass up on trying the house-made sangria, which is a treat. The signature drinks change with the season, and the Rooftop has some great winter warmers, including dark Spanish rum with pear and ginger ale, or thick Italian hot chocolate served with either dark rum or vodka. There is also some great tucker to snack on including the soon-to-be-famous Rooftop burger. The clear air and open space is a blessing in the warmer months and there are plenty of heaters to nurse you through the winter. Plans are afoot to install a carnival of circus tents across the artificial turf and weekend bocce is also on the cards.
