Ned Kelly Country
Glenrowan is a quiet town between Benalla and Wangaratta that blazed into Australian history in 1880 as the site of the famous siege where Ned Kelly and his gang made their last stand. Ned Kelly is undoubtedly Australia's most notorious bushranger and an important part of Australian folklore. Many Glenrowan attractions bring together the various aspects of the enduring legend, making it easy to learn more about the man and his infamous gang. Glenrowan is 220 kilometres or 2.5 hours' drive from Melbourne along the Hume Highway.
Plunkett Wines
Glen visits Plunkett Wines located just off the Hume Highway in Avenel. The Plunketts have been growing grapes since the late 1960s and now have about 100 hectares of vines with 10 varieties of grapes growing. Plunkett has the capacity to crush up to 1000 tonnes of grapes per year.

The Young Bloods
Glen catches up with The Young Bloods of Rutherglen at Pfeiffer Winery. The group was formed in 2003 when five of the younger generation of some of Rutherglen's oldest wine families found themselves working in their family wineries. They brought with them a keen desire to share their region, its history and wines with their contemporaries in the city and surrounding regions.
Their vision is to ensure Rutherglen continues to be fresh and progressive, and so they formed a group and began to hold regular events such as a cocktail party for the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival to take their wines and their enthusiasm for north-east Victoria to like minded wine drinkers from their generation.
They also revamped Rutherglen's traditional Legends Weekend in 2005 by renaming it the Young Bloods & Bloody Legends Weekend with an aim to combine the region's history with its bright future. This year's Young Bloods & Bloody Legends Weekend promises a fantastic two days of wine, food, and frivolity. In a weekend not to missed, the Young Bloods will host a Wine Tasting Adventure, Twilight Dinner in the vineyard and the popular Rutherglen Picnic.
