| Once a newspapermen's pub called The Phoenix Hotel, Phoenix has been reborn as an upmarket bistro with classy interiors and a sophisticated mod-Oz menu which changes regularly. The pub mood has been changed into a bar feel and the food has morphed from the fried and the stodgy to the fried and the fabulous. The cheese-stuffed mushrooms are perfect for cooler weather and the calamari are similarly excellent.
