Ready Cottage

Ready Cottage is a stunning blend of old and new. The original Ready family homestead has been carefully renovated to retain its old world charm while providing superb accommodation with all modern comforts. The three guest rooms all contain queen size beds, ensuite, TV, Heating and cooling.
 
Built in the late 1890’s by Roy Ready, it was the family home for many years. Roy was a local builder, undertaker and served on the local council. The architectural style is late Victorian/Timber Boom and is similar to many houses built around that time in Bendigo.
 
Located within an easy stroll to Main St where you can enjoy a meal at one of the top class restaurants or sample the local hospitality at one of the three hotels. Main St is home to a wide variety of arts and crafts and antique stores as well as deli’s and  bakeries.

 Rutherglen is ideally positioned between the High Country and the Murray and a short 17 kilometres detour from the Hume Freeway. Only three hours from Melbourne and six hours from Sydney a great place to spend a night or two. There is a diverse range of activities within half to one hours drive:

Murray River: Water sports, boating and fishing

Golf: Three of the Magnificent Seven Murray golf Courses are within ten to forty minutes drive. Rutherglen has an 18 hole sand-scrape with watered fairways.

Historic Towns/Villages: Once here you can make day trips to some of the historic and interesting towns of the north east including: Chiltern, Yackandandah, Beechworth, Bright, Yarrawonga/Lake Mulwala.

Snowfields: Mt Buffalo is within one and a half hours drive.
