Visitor Information

VISITOR INFORMATION

Melbourne Visitor Centre
To make your stay in Melbourne run as smoothly and efficiently as possible, make a beeline to the Melbourne Visitor Centre in Federation Square. It has everything you need to get the best out of your stay – information on events, advice on the best things to see and do in Melbourne and Victoria, and an insider’s insight into the local lifestyle and culture.

Open seven days from 9am to 6pm, the information centre also has multilingual facilities, interpretive multimedia, Internet access, and an accommodation and tour booking service.

Regional Visitor Information Centres
Regional Visitor Information Centres (look out for the blue and yellow ‘i’ symbol) are thick on the ground in Victoria. Open seven days a week (except public holidays), they’re staffed by friendly, professional and trained people with extensive local knowledge. They can provide reliable information on attractions, activities and events, help you make reservations for accommodation or sightseeing tours, or give up-to-the-minute advice on travel in the area.

Other Melbourne information sources
Free maps, brochures and publications are available from Information Victoria at 356 Collins Street in Melbourne, as well as from two information kiosks around the city: Bourke Street Mall and Flinders Street Station. Another good information point is the interactive touch-screen terminal at 234 Collins Street (between Swanston and Elizabeth streets), where you can find a range of services.

Hostel noticeboards are excellent sources of information – you’ll find everything from flatmates wanted and car shares to tours, email addresses, weekend soccer matches and general advice.
