Postcards: Cape Otway Lighthouse

Cape Otway Lighthouse
Join Bridget as she explores the awe inspiring Cape Otway Lighthouse. Standing 90 metres above the crashing waves of Bass Strait, this magnificent sandstone structure was built in 1848 after a series of terrible shipwrecks and is the oldest lighthouse on mainland Australia.

Postcards: Great Ocean Walk

Castle Cove and Great Ocean Walk
The breathtaking coastal scenery, remote terrain and magnificent forest have all helped this walk become an iconic attraction within Australia and overseas. The track offers a variety of walking experiences including isolated cliff top trails and forest tracks that meander along gentle gradients and pristine sandy beaches. Loz's journey starts at Castle Cove, which was discovered in 1980 to be one of the few dinosaur bone sites in Australia.

Postcards: Motorbike Tours

Motorbike Tour and Johanna Seaside Cottages
Glen gets behind the wheel in Eastern View at the famous Great Ocean Road sign. Thanks to the crew at Garners Motorcycles in North Melbourne, he has been hooked up with a Harley Davidson Heritage Softail. For now, it's just him, his hog and the road. When night falls, Glen enjoys some traditional hospitality from the good folks at Johanna Seaside Cottages.

Triplet Falls
Situated 200 kilometres west of Melbourne via Colac, the Triplet Falls Rainforest Walk has reopened after a two million dollar redevelopment adding raised boardwalks and viewing platforms that take visitors to previously unexplored parts of this magnificent area.

Postcards: Ishshoes

IshShoes
Nestled in a beautiful bush land setting at Barongarook, 13 kilometres south of Colac, this thriving cottage industry has been operating for 17 years producing exquisite handmade leather shoes that can only be described as funky. Bridget learns that there are more than sixty colours to choose from and each shoe is crafted to ensure that the leather moulds to the shape of your foot. So if you have two left feet, this is the place to go.

IshShoes is open Thursday to Sunday and public holidays from 10.30am to 4.30pm

Postcards: Otway Estate

Otway Estate
Barongarook, 14 kilometres east of Colac is a lush, tranquil hamlet in the heart of the Otway Ranges. And it's here that a once well kept secret is now gracing the tables of some of the countrys finest bars and restaurants. If you have an obsession with fine wine, refreshing ales and hearty food then look no further than Otway Estate. Bridge discovers the vineyard was established in 1983, more vines were planted in 1995 and today Otway Estate has a wine list that matches the best of them.

Otway Estate is open seven days a week. Winery and brewery tours are available.

Postcards: Lake Elizabeth

Lake Elizabeth Platypus
Glen paddles his way around Lake Elizabeth, located on the East Barwon River within the Otway State Forest. The lake was formed after a landslide created a natural dam wall in 1952 and was listed as National Estate by the Australian Heritage Commission in 1984. Part of the reason this area is so special is that it's home to one of our national icons, the platypus. The best part about visiting Lake Elizabeth is that there is a chance to see the gorgeous creature in its natural environment.

Postcards: Otway Fly Tree Top Walk

Otway Fly Tree Top Walk
The Otway fly in Beech Forest gives you a bird's eye view of the natural world, allowing you to walk within the canopy of the beautiful forest. This is the longest and the highest steel canopy walk in the world and you can cover the whole thing in about an hour. The total length is just under two kilometres long and ranges in height from 20 to 37 metres off the ground. Glen partakes in the walk and really gets the feeling that he is right up amongst the trees.
