If you want a convenient snapshot of the Yarra Valley region - with an emphasis on the local culinary gems - Cru is a good place to start. The space is neat but completely unpretentious, with all aesthetic emphasis on the spectacular valley views and, of course, the bright confections on the plate. Chef Leonard Kusnezow's menu revolves around whatever's growing locally and, as such, changes frequently. His creations might include dishes such as chargrilled tomato and shallot tartlet; or Rannoch Farm quail with braised potatoes, tomatoes, olives and smoked paprika.
