Founded in 1947, Creswick Woollen Mills is the only coloured woollen spinning mill of its type in Australia. Creswick Woollen Mills is home to luxurious, natural fibre products designed in Australia to suit Australian conditions.
Located in Creswick, a small township approximately 120 kilometres from Melbourne, between Daylesford and Ballarat, Creswick Woollen Mills now hosts a fully interactive fibre experience.
Visit the Creswick Woollen Mills tourism experience "A Very Fine Yarn" showcasing the journey of fibre; all the way from its source on the alpaca, through the manufacturing process and how it ends up on the shop shelf. Creswick Wollen Farm's tour "A Very Fine Yarn" that runs everyday at 11am and 2pm sharp.
The exhibit gives a great insight into natural fibre, how luxurious fibres are processed and gives visitors a chance to see Australian manufacturing as it happens.
Meet their resident alpacas and purchase Australian products made right here at the Mill. Their retail store open seven days a week and the interpretive tours take place at 11am and 2pm every day.
Some of Creswick Woollen Mills luxurious products are manufactured at the mill include Alpaca throws, blankets and accessories woven into sophisticated modern designs. Other natural fibre products designed by Creswick for optimum comfort include merino, possum, cashmere, cotton and bamboo.
Creswick's continued success is attributed to ongoing research and innovation, as well as dedication to quality and an understanding that the Australian market appreciates exclusive designs and high quality. To get to Creswick Wollen Farm: Head north east on Midland Highway toward Water Sreet for 600 metres. Continue on North Parade for just over a kilometre. Turn left at Williams Street 100 metres. Turn right at Railway Parade 300 metres.

Due to popular demand Creswick Woollen Mills outlet shop has expanded and opened a new knitwear area within their store. Here you will find an amazing collection of Men's, Ladies and Children knitwear in Merino, Alpaca, Cashmere Blend, and even Possum. You'll find an array of jumpers, cardigans, jackets, knits and sleepwear. They also now offer babies and plus sizing.

Creswick Woollen Mills was founded in 1947 and is now the only coloured woollen spinning mill of its type in Australia. Over 50 Australian mills of this type have closed in the face of competition from cheap imports, but Creswick remains, employing people directly from the community. Other activities at the Mill include a self guided tour of the the operating mill machinery ; Meet and feed the Alpacas, Javier, Diego, Tumi and Theodore everyday and the Ryzowy Gallery featuring the works fo local artists.
