The Age Harvest Picnic at Hanging Rock is a delicious day out for family, friends and fellow food lovers. Over 100 small food and wine producers gather at the base of Hanging Rock to sample and sell their fine array of tasty goods. Producers from all regions of Victoria showcase cheeses, meats, poultry, buffalo, wine, preserves, breads, seeds, edible plants and ice-cream. Meet the maker of your favourite product, and the growers of fresh and seasonal produce. The Harvest Picnic combines produce, people and passion for food. Bring a picnic blanket and fill your picnic basket from the delicious produce on offer.

The Harvest Picnic features cooking demonstrations by well known chefs, music and dance on stage all day, and lots of free activities for children. This year the line-up includes James Reyne on stage, and Stefano de Pieri in the Neff Cooking Demonstration Kitchen.

The event is organised by the Harvest Picnic Foundation - a not-for-profit organisation, whose aim is to promote Victorian produce. The Harvest Picnic is now in its twenty fifth year, and is Victoria's biggest one day food and wine event. The Age Harvest Picnic at Hanging Rock is held on the last Sunday in February every year.

Cancellation and booking policy

Tickets available in advance are $5 cheaper than those purchased at the gate. Group tickets are not available at the gate. The Age Harvest Picnic at Hanging Rock is an all weather event. Tickets are non-refundable.

From Melbourne, Hanging Rock Reserve is 75 kilometres north west along the Calder Freeway. Take the Hanging Rock exit (C324: Woodend-Wallan Road). Hanging Rock Reserve is on South Rock Road. Melways Ref p609 G9.

Disabled access

Disabled parking available via South Rock Road entry (the signs will say: Exhibitor/VIP and disabled entry). This parking is not far from the picnic action. Permanent disabled toilets are located behind the Hanging Rock Cafe.The picnic ground is grassy.
