It's only when a kangaroo bounds into sight across a distant paddock that you realise you're well and truly in Australia.Taking its name from a French town famed for its lavender, Sault is also a working lavender farm and distillery sitting amidst acres of lavender and overlooking its' own lake.Sault Restaurant's cuisine is inspired by the abundance of rich local produce. All seasonal menus are available for perusal on the website.An extensive wine list showcases Australian and New Zealand labels along with great local wines such as Curly Flat, Pondalowie and Tom Boy Hill.On warm weekends, enjoy brunch, lunch or afternoon tea on the balcony while relishing the peace of this lovely slice of countryside. For groups over 12 persons, we require a $50 deposit. If the booking is cancelled less than 48 hours prior to booking date, we retain the deposit amount.
Sault is located five kilometres from Daylesford towards Melbourne on the Ballan Daylesford Road. Travelling from Daylesford starting from the Post Office (on your right) continue along the main street out of Daylesford past the petrol station on your left. This turns into Ballan Daylesford Road. After five kilometres you will hit a sign for Sailors Falls, we are around the next bend.
From Melbourne, travel along the Western Highway to the Ballan Daylesford turn off (after the BP service centre) turn right at top of turn off. Travel 25 kilometres and Sault is on your left.
Friday lunch they offer a special of two courses and a glass of wine for $40.00 as well as a tasting menu for dinner that can be matched with wines.
