Best Friend Holiday Retreat is on 10 acres in Tarra Valley, near Yarram and is located less than three hours east of Melbourne and adjacent to a lovely waterfall with a rock pool swimming hole. Located 3km from the magnificent Tarra-Bulga National Park, and yet is only 30 minutes from Woodside Beach.

You are most welcome with your dog. All cabins are individually fenced and dogs must sleep inside at night. You have your choice of budget cabins to our individually themed deluxe cabins (Pluto's Palace, Snoopy's Snoozer and Scooby-Doo's Shack). Also available are fenced caravan and camping sites. so, once you park your van or pitch your tent you have an area around you where your dog can run free safely.

To make sure your dog gets lots of exercise, there are six huge securely fenced off-leash areas including a doggie playground. If the owners agree, the dogs may mix with other dogs, however as per our dog rules (available on our website) you do not enter if someone else is using that particular area unless you ask first. We understand that not all dogs get on with other dogs.

There is a great off-lead beach at Woodside Beach (off-lead beach all year round - 35 mins drive away) and to wash off the sand, there is a dog hydro-bath available at no additional charge.

The nearby wonderful Tarra Bulga National Park is a must to visit but as no dogs are allowed, luxury day use kennels are available, each with their own lounge, TV and DVD player (charges apply).

Tarra Valley is a beautiful valley, however, no mobile reception is available. There is a public phone available near reception and free wi-fi internet hotspot access.

Cancellation and booking policy

Should you cancel more than 30 days from the commencement of your holiday, your deposit will be refunded less a $20 fee. If you cancel less than 30 days from the commencement of your holiday, the deposit will only be refunded (less $20) if we are able to rebook your cabin/site at the same rate.

Local directions

From YARRAM take the turn-off to the TARRA VALLEY NATIONAL PARK.(Church Street) C484. This is opposite the hospital in the main street of Yarram. There is a primary school (St Marys) on the corner. Approx 2 km turn right onto the TARRA VALLEY ROAD - again follow the signs to the National Park C484. Approx 4km turn left (do not go straight ahead to Won Wron) and approx 1km turn right (do not go straight ahead on unsealed road). You are still on the Tarra Valley Road the C484 and the road to the TARRA VALLEY National Park. Another 10km and you are "where best friends stay together".
