New farm gate cheese centre surrounded by dairy pastures on the family farm in the picturesque Moyarra Valley, South Gippsland. Opening 13th September 2014

Owned and run by the Brandon Family of Red Hill Cheese, the focus on the farm is producing sheep milk and showcasing its transformation into distinctive regional cheese. Their cheese making journey started in the mid 1990's as Red Hill Cheese, later adding the Prom Country label to identify sheep products from the home farm.

Prom Country sheep cheeses are sought after for their unique qualities of creaminess, elegant flavour and delicate texture, influenced by the fertile pastures in the rolling green hills of South Gippsland.

Sustainable, natural and ethical farming techniques combine with simple raw ingredients to create a wide range of traditional, whole-some cheeses. They have added a new dimension to the established Red Hill cow and goat cheeses which continue to be produced.

The family is involved in the entire process from growing the pastures, to breeding, milking and handcrafting the cheese, then proudly presenting the final products to the visitor.

The new cheesery and country kitchen on the farm will provide a true paddock to plate food experience as well as sheep dairy and cheese educational activities.

When the cheese cellar door opens in September 2014, visitors will be able to share in the farm and cheese experience the family enjoys every day. Whether it is sampling cheese in the comfort of the tasting room, or enjoying a home-cooked meal in the fresh air of the veranda, visitors will experience the breathtaking landscape of the Moyarra Valley, surrounded by pastures and the beautiful animals that provide the food.

Prom Country cheeses can currently be found at farmers' markets and delis, plus the Red Hill Cheese cellar door.
