Cardigan Lodge Motel is independently owned and situated in a quiet and relaxing getaway location just 10 kilometres west of the Arch of Victory on the picturesque Avenue of Honour ( Remembrance Drive) Ballarat.
All their spacious units are at ground level which, along with an outdoor swimming pool, games room and access to two tennis courts, and community play ground make Cardigan Lodge Motel ideal for all age-groups.
The on-site licensed restaurant, Molly & Petes offers excellent dining at affordable prices as well as a big screen sound system (great for entertaining groups and schools).

Local directions
Cardigan Lodge is located at Cardigan Village in Ballarat's Avenue of Honour (Remembrance Drive). Travel west up Ballarat's main street (Sturt Street) in the direction of Adelaide, under the Arch of Victory and down the Avenue of Honour to Cardigan Village - exactly 10 kilometres from the Arch of Victory. The Cardigan Lodge Motel sign can be seen on the left side for some distance. If coming from the west, take the Avenue of Honor exit from the freeway and the motel is on the right.

National POW Memorial
The magnificent new Ex P.O.W. Memorial was opened in February 2004 and is located in the Ballarat Botanic Gardens. This 130 metre long structure contains the name of almost 35,000 Australian ex P.O.W.'s and is used by many as a quiet place to reflect on friends or loved one's who sacrificed their youth and in some cases their lives as prisoners in conflicts from the Boer War to the Korean War. There is also a special memorial to those 1000 P.O.W.'s and civilians who died when the "Montevideo Maru" was sunk en-route from Singapore to Japan. A visit to this new memorial is a must for visitors to Ballarat
