Overview
Established in 1858, Bendigo Pottery offers a unique visitor experience of both historic and modern ceramic production.
Bendigo Pottery has quality ceramic tableware at factory prices, antique centre with over 30 stalls, heritage listed wood fired kilns as well as an interpretive Museum.
The interpretive Museum features a theatrette inside a heritage wood fired kiln and displays of kilns, production equipment and pottery. The theatrette displays videos, soundscapes and an insight into what the factory does .
There are demonstrations of hand throwing by potters and wheel throwing lessons. There are also activities children can participate in called 'Clay Play'.
There are six artist studios including painting, prints, glass beads, photos and textiles.
Paynter Gallery hosts temporary ceramic exhibitions as Potiche Gallery has ceramics by Central Victorian Potters on display for the public to view.
Bendigo Pottery has ample parking for cars, coaches and caravans on site as well as a Café and a magnificent rose garden.

Local directions
Take the Calder Highway from Melbourne to Bendigo. This makes for a comfortable 90 minute trip to the centre of Bendigo. Bendigo Pottery is located six and a half kilometres North of the Alexandra Fountain in the centre of Bendigo.

School Holiday Program
During the school holidays, visitors to Bendigo Pottery can decorate their own plate or mug under the guidance of an experienced artist. The decorated piece is then glazed and fired to provide a functional piece or unique gift. Finished items are ready in two weeks for collection or to be posted to any location around the world.
