With its foundations located on the physical site of the Eureka Stockade, and the evocative Eureka Flag from 1854 as its centrepiece, M.A.D.E.'s interactive and immersive state-of-the-art exhibitions explore the evolution and future of democracy, looking at culture, civics, history and citizenship.

The role of the 1854 Eureka Stockade in shaping our nation has long been celebrated with local commemorations and memorials. M.A.D.E. presents the story of the Eureka Stockade in the context of the 21st century, and has been curated in collaboration with some of the best Australian and international historians, museum experts and innovative minds.

Museum of Australian Democracy at Eureka explores many concepts: what it means to be an effective, engaged Australian; how to create a more inclusive and connected society in a digital era; how to thrive as a nation through harnessing creativity and energy; and what to offer to a globalised world.

You can stand on the site where young miners bravely stood up for their rights, and contemplate the future roles and directions of Australians.

With interactive exhibits, two formal education spaces, a purpose-built display gallery for the Eureka Flag, theatre that can seat up to 120 people, café, gift shop and outdoor precinct, M.A.D.E is perfect for your next family outing, excursion or corporate event.
