One of the gems of the Bendigo region, this boutique winery has been producing award-winning wines since their first vintage in 1995. Sandhurst Ridge wines are handcrafted by the owners, brothers Paul and George Greblo, who are proud to be continuing a family tradition of winemaking which began generations ago in northern Italy.

The picturesque vineyard nestles against a state forest, and is planted to shiraz, cabernet sauvignon, merlot, sauvignon blanc, and -- in tribute to their Italian origins -- a nebbiolo. Ralph Kyte-Powell awarded 4 1/2 stars to this "intriguing Bendigo red".

A visit to the cellar door (just 15 minutes from the centre of Bendigo) virtually guarantees an informative conversation with someone with hands-on knowledge of the vines as well as the wines, since Paul (the winemaker) and George (the vineyard manager) reside on the estate and it's an all-in-the-family business.
