The Ballarat Writers Festival will offer a diverse and stimulating three days of writing and ideas for all ages. Covering fiction and non-fiction genres, the Festival will feature both established and emerging authors and will begin with a major one day workshop on the Friday followed by parallel sessions across two days.

Catering to readers and writers from Ballarat and beyond and based in central city venues around Lydiard and Camp Street plus the Museum of Australian Democracy at Eureka the Festival will examine the theme of democracy, connecting it with the Eureka Stockade and Ballarat's rich social history.
