Grampians Eco YHA hostel is an industry leader in environmentally friendly accommodation, with many state of the art features designed to protect and compliment the natural environment, whilst making your stay a comfortable one. Grampians Eco YHA was architecturally designed to utilise solar hot water and electricity, rainwater tanks and greywater recycling, along with a passive solar design and clever zoning techniques to use 50 per cent less energy and generate 50 per cent less waste than standard hostels.The hostel was designed with guests in mind. It has two fully equipped kitchens, and two spacious lounges with wood heaters. The friendly staff can assist you in organising a range of adventure activities in the Grampians, such as abseiling, rock climbing, horse riding, and canoeing.Grampians Eco YHA is close to a range of restaurants and cafes in Halls Gap where you can relax and have a meal. For those who prefer to eat in, the hostel offers state of the art kitchen, with self catering facilities, and the local food store is only minutes walk down the road. The hostel also features barbecue areas, television rooms with DVD's to borrow, and internet facilities to make your stay more enjoyable.The hostel is perfectly situated for access to attractions in the Grampians National Park. Explore Reid's Lookout, Aboriginal rock art and waterfalls. Other places of interest include the Brambuk Aboriginal Cultural Centre, which provides tours featuring insight into Aboriginal culture and Aboriginal rock art.To reach the Grampians Eco YHA, Melbourne-based Autopia Tours has a direct coach service from Melbourne to the hostel and return, which runs three times a week. There are various ways to book this hostel. You can book online and pay by credit card. You can contact the hostel by email, telephone, and fax with credit card details or you can also book from YHA hostel to YHA hostel with the help of YHA staff. If you have to cancel a booking, please notify the hostel immediately. If less than 48 hours notice of cancellation is given, unless otherwise indicated, your deposit of one overnight charge will be forfeited.
Grampians YHA Eco Hostel is one kilometre north of the centre of Halls Gap, on the right hand side of Grampians Road as you arrive from Ararat or Stawell. Melbourne-based Autopia Tours has a direct coach service from Melbourne to the hostel door and return three times a week.

Grampians WildlifeAround the Grampians YHA Eco Hostel you will find the resident chickens! These lovely ladies create free range eggs daily, and guests are more than welcome to use the eggs for breakfast where available. There are also kangaroos which visit the area very frequently, and are very friendly and do not mind posing for the camera!
