Overview
Nestled amongst the majestic, ancient red gum trees you can experience the peace and solitude of South Mokanger Farm Cottages, a pet friendly farm stay on the southern edge of the renowned Grampians National Park.
Stay in historic Stoneycroft Cottage built in 1864 from bluestone mined on the property by Stonemasons from Scotland or charming Mountain Duck cottage.
Both fully self-contained and, generously appointed with cosy wood fires, outdoor furniture and barbecue's. They are centrally located for visiting wineries, open gardens, the coast and Grampians mountain exploring, with local golf, tennis and restaurants. As one Sydneysider said they are an hour and a bit from everything, the best location.
This third generation sheep and cropping property is 4500 acres and you can view seasonal farm activities including sheep mustering, as well as feeding and shearing the sheep.
In summer, enjoy a refreshing dip in the large in ground swimming pool, go fishing, do a spot of yabbying or take a long peaceful walk down the lane way.
In winter curl up in front of the open fire with a good book and a great local bottle of wine.
Pets are very welcome and both cottages are fenced as well as having purpose built dog yards in case you want to go to the mountains for a day trip.
We are only 20 minutes from the famous Royal Mail Hotel in Dunkeld where you can enjoy a gastronomic treat.

Stoneycroft Cottage and Shearers Quarters | Stoneycroft Cottage is a stone cottage built in 1864 but has been totally renovated and has two bedrooms which sleeps six people, including one queen room, and one room with two bunks. Great for a couple or a family.
For groups there are the adjoining Shearers Quarters which are heated and carpeted and sleeps up to 10 people, only available if Stoneycroft Cottage is fully booked.
The Shearers Quarters includes two double rooms and three twin rooms. In total there are 16 beds.

Mountain Duck Cottage | A very well presented, renovated self contained cottage with four bedrooms sleeping eight. One queen room, one twin, one bunk, one single and one trundle.
One bathroom with shower over the bath. Separate toilet and external toilet as well.

Local directions
From Melbourne take the Western Highway to Ballarat then take the Glenelg Highway to Dunkeld. 2 kms out of Dunkeld, turn right at the turn off for Cavendish. Travel 20kms and turn right into Gardners Road. Follow through to the T intersection and turn left. We are the first property on the left (follow signs).
