Claerwen Retreat is located "high above the world" overlooking the Great Ocean Road, at Apollo Bay. It is the highest point in the area, an old aboriginal sacred site, with stunning ocean views.

Claerwen Retreat offers a holiday experience in the relaxing environment of peaceful solitude and healing nature. The guesthouse has four luxurious suites with king beds. You can relax in the spacious lounge with a glass of wine, a light meal or a deliciously cooked breakfast.

The two cottages have three bedrooms each, a 360 degree view, a king spa, open fire and are great for a group of friends or family gatherings. Also two small apartments are nestled in 280 acres of park, rainforest and fern gullies.

The beautiful beaches of Apollo Bay are a short ten minute drive away. It is a place where your spirit can rest. Once you have recovered your equilibrium, there are plenty of things to do. The Otway rainforests are waiting to be explored. Surf beaches like Moonlight Head and Johanna are close by and The Twelve Apostles are a year-round attraction. Claerwen is an ideal base for tours along Victoria's dramatic west coast.

Local directions

480 Tuxion Road - Apollo Bay 3233 Coming from Melbourne take the first turn to the right after the second 50km restriction sign. From Port Campbell turn off the Great Ocean Road two blocks after the Mobil service station. Follow this road 5 km to the top of the hill. We are the last and only property at the end of Tuxion Road. Avoid using GPS units for directions in regional areas as they are often incorrect. Please Claerwen Retreat is accessed via a gravel road.
