Fauna Australia is centrally located midway between Apollo Bay and Port Campbell, on the main road to the Otway Fly Treetop Walk and Triplet Falls, surrounded by the Otway's National Park, high in the rainforest.

Fauna Australia is an Animal Lover's Haven, with their accommodation situated on private property dedicated to endangered breeding of some of Australia's rarest species. Hosted by Dean and Kirsten, it is home to some of the largest and most successful breeding colonies of endangered nocturnal mammals. Staying at night, means that guests have the opportunity to view these remarkable creatures at their most active. They also have the much loved favourites (koalas, wombats, kangaroos and wallabies) and allow guests to interact and hand-feed many of them.

Fauna Australia believes that to truly appreciate Australia's unique wildlife, you need to view them at their most active. You also need to interact with them. Viewing a fleeing wild animal, or seeing a picture in a book doesn't instil that same connection.

Ideal for families, animal lovers and/or international guests, Fauna Australia offers a great base to explore all the Otways and the Great Ocean Road has to offer.

Extremely child friendly, as they have three small children: Jaryd 9, Sophie 7 and Chloe 5.

All new Farm Yard Friends to allow city dwellers the chance to meet some ponies, goats, chickens etc.

Accommodation on offer: self-contained spa cottage (sleeps five), self contained family unit (sleeps five), self-contained family unit (sleeps eight) and twin share en-suite room (sleeps double and single).

Testimonial 1
Dear Dean and Kirsten We stayed at Fauna Australia on Saturday 22 September and really just wanted to write and thank you for a truly fantastic experience. Our children had an absolute ball seeing all the animals, hand feeding them, and 'spotlighting' them at night. The time Dean took to allow us to get up close and hand feed the koalas was just superb. The knowledge he gave us about the koalas was fascinating. This is an experience I have not yet had even having lived in Australia all my life! My husband Kevin really enjoyed being able to cook the barbecue on Saturday night with the Sugar Gliders and Bandicoots right next to him foraging around. He said it was surreal. The accommodation itself was perfect for our large family and had everything we could have needed. It was tidy, clean, warm and roomy. Thank you for a fabulous weekend. It is a rare experience for us to be able to afford to get away for the weekend, but we certainly hope to return to your accommodation someday and will definitely recommend it to all our friends. Kind regards Kylie Johnson

Testimonial 2
Kirsten, I just wanted to send you a quick e-mail on behalf of myself and the other girls, to thank you and Dean (and the kids) for a fantastic weekend away. We enjoyed our time immensely, it was such a fun and different experience. It was nice to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and get 'back to nature', literally! It is definitely an experience that I will remember, that I will encourage others to do and that I look forward to doing again. Your hospitality was amazing, thank you for your friendliness, even when you had your hands so full with the kids. Once again thank you so much! Sincerely Michelle Thomson (Rebecca McGrath and Amy Ortland)
