Witness the shipping operations through Port Phillip Heads and learn about the important role of the Port Phillip Sea Pilots.
If weather conditions permit they safely venture out through the Rip enlightening you about the waters and why it is considered so treacherous, then cruise along sandstone escarpments to Cheviot Beach, viewing pieces of maritime history along the way.
Upon re-entering the Rip, passing Point Nepean, they head into Nepean Bay enlightening you of the many military fortifications which protected Melbourne during the World Wars.
Then continue along the Mornington Peninsula into the dolphin sanctuary and past the Portsea Quarantine Station. Returning via the Australian fur Seal haul out and Australasian Gannet colony.
