The Bellarine Railway is a volunteer operated organisation offering heritage train rides and experiences between Queenscliff and Drysdale, featuring a unique collection of steam and diesel trains originating from around Australia.
Locomotive Cab Rides allow passengers the chance take a trip with the crew at the business end of the train. The ride comprises of travel for a 'section' (one way) on the locomotive and the other way as a 'regular' passenger in a carriage. Check availability with the Booking Officer at Queenscliff or Drysdale Stations.
Private Carriage Hire is available as part of the heritage service and perfect for children's parties or groups - bookings are essential.
Family activities are offered during the school holidays and on special occasions, such as visits from the Easter Bunny and Santa Trains.
Experiences and special events include Steam and Diesel Train Driver Experiences; Day out with Thomas weekends; special occasion charters; and tailored group and school tours / trips.
The Bellarine Railway is home to the Blues Train; Australia's most unique music experience and has been presenting the Best in Blues since 1994.

Regular Heritage Train Trips are available on Sunday, most public holidays, as well as Tuesday and Thursday during the Easter, June and September school holidays. Extra running days are available from Boxing Day to the end of the Australia Day weekend in January.
Day out with Thomas events are held in January, Easter School Holidays and in October.
Santa trains are held in December.
Advance bookings are required for Carriage Hire; Driver Experiences and Train Charters
Patrons are advised that currently most Bellarine Railway carriages are not wheelchair accessible, due to their 1920’s heritage construction. There is a dining carriage available with an open area suitable for wheelchairs and enquiries / bookings are welcome during business hours by telephone or email. Ramps are available for all services – please see the Booking Officer / Train Guard on the day of your visit or call in advance to arrange.
