Bogong Alpine Village is an escape for all seasons nestled in the foothills of Victoria's high plains.

The European trees of the village gardens are stunning in spring, summer and most particularly in autumn when set against the Australian bush backdrop.

Accommodation is available in 26 individually owned self-contained cottages sleeping from two to eight people. All have full kitchens and laundries and are supplied with linen, have adequate heating and are decorated and equipped according to each owners taste and needs. Some have dishwashers, spas or open fireplaces. Outlooks range from views of the lake to the mountains. For more details visit the website.

Situated on the picturesque Lake Guy, the village was established in 1940 with European gardens surrounded on all sides by Australian forest rich in native birdlife.

Located at around 700 metres above sea level, between Mount Beauty and Falls Creek this is a perfect setting for a host of scenic and recreational pursuits.

In winter the village is a welcome base for those seeking the downhill excitement of snow capped mountains and the breathtaking beauty of cross-country trekking at the nearby Falls Creek resort.

Drive up the mountain and in 15 minutes you are on the Bogong High Plains which in spring, summer and autumn, are a major attraction for walkers who want to stroll across the top of the world and take in amazing views.

Drive down the mountain and you arrive at Mount Beauty and the Kiewa Valley. Take a trip a little further away and you can enter another world and go back in time to the "gold rush" and visit the historic towns of Yackandandah and Beechworth.

The Milawa gourmet district with its wine and fine food is also nearby.
