The building chosen to accommodate the centre is an original 1850s building, built to house the Chinese Protector, within the Beechworth Heritage and Cultural Precinct.

The centre displays artefacts found on the site of the Chinese camps in Beechworth and other artefacts/items held by decadents of the Chinese miners who lived and worked on the Ovens and District goldfields.

The centre will also hold exhibitions, and events, in recognition of the contributions of the Chinese to the Beechworth district, and to the Colony of Victoria.

Group books are made through either Beechworth Visitor Information Centre or directly to the Chinese Cultural Centre.Phone for inquiries.

Local directions

The Beechworth Chinese Cultural Centre is directly opposite the Beechworth Visitor Information centre in the Historic and Cultural Precinct and within a short walking distance to most restaurants, cafes, bakery and shops. Beechworth is situated in a triangle bordered by Wangaratta, Myrtleford and Albury Wodonga, and is approx 20-30 minutes drive to these towns; also only 45 minutes to Bright.
