Adventure Guides Australia first have a practice abseil or two from the 35 metre "Echo Point" beginners abseil site, which is one of the best small abseil sites on Mount Buffalo with good photo opportunities.
Adventure Guides Australia then move on to the 45 metre Adventure Abseil site known as The Dragon. This site has a free fall component and also a small top belayed rock climb out at the bottom of the descent.
Both abseil sites are close to the Mount Buffalo Gorge visitors car park and also the toilets and facilities.
This adventure is suitable for people with a moderate level of fitness and a high sense of Adventure! Adventure abseiling is four hours in duration.
Please bring clothing appropriate to the weather conditions (they recommend loose long trousers). In winter or early spring you will need thermal underwear, polar fleece clothing and wet weather gear
In hot weather bring sunscreen, caps, cool clothing not singlets, rubber soles boots or runners, a cap or hat, sunscreen, personal medication as required (such as asthma puffers), water and energy snacks.

The underground river cave at Mount Buffalo is a horizontal boulder infill type cave, some 350 metres long. It has a number of exits. There is an active stream in the cave and when water levels are moderate, there are numerous rapids and waterfalls to challenge the caving team.
This cave is wet and cold with tight squeezes and slippery rocks. It is a horizontal cave so no rope work is needed for access and it is all crawling, squeezing and teamwork.
