Buckle Up Bushrides is offering this nine day horse riding adventure with the journey taking you deep into the heart of Victoria's High Country and to the roots of Australian bush riding.
Riding the Great Dividing Range you will see many sites from the mighty mountain ash and the twisted gnarly snow gums. You will ride underneath the magnificent rock facade of the Bluff, ride the trails on top of Mt Lovick, named in honour of Paul's Great, Great Uncle Frank Lovick and onto our first night's destination of Lovick's Hut.
Other sights include Picture Point, Helicopter Spur, and the King Billy tree. We cross the land bridge to Mt Magdala, past Hell's Window and onto the Howitt Plains. We will point out recognisable landmarks from "The Man From Snowy River" movies before riding across the Howitt High Plains.
You will descend into the picturesque Wonnangatta Valley which is steeped in history and then make camp under the beautiful old elm trees along the banks of the river.
This truly is an experience of a life time which will leave you in awe of our beautiful country!

This ride includes lovely horses to suit all abilities, comfortable saddles, all home cooked meals, we will also cater for special requirements. ie gluten free. Camping gear, stand up tents for two and swags. Hot shower, vehicle back up, friendly accredited staff who will answer all your questions. Paul Skvor is the great, great grandson of William Mitchell Lovick who settled the district in 1871. His grandfather, Jack Lovick began horseback riding tours in the 1960′s and today, the tradition still lives on.
Paul's partner Shelly, born in in Gippsland has been bush riding since she was a child and first came to the area after doing a horse safari with Jack's son Charlie back in 2000. Both Paul and Shelly rode for Charlie Lovick for many years before being encouraged to branch out on their own. The Man from Snowy River movies was filmed through out the area with Paul's family playing a big part in the making of these movies.
Operating out of the Boorolite Valley, Buckle Up Bushrides have tours catering to riders of all levels. From beginner right through to experienced horsemen, their horses have wonderful temperaments and are hardy bush horses.
