Celebrating our nation and the achievements of our community, you're invited to participate in what makes our nation great. Australia Day is a day driven by communities in the Rural City of Wangaratta, with each town unified for the anniversary of Australia Day. Get together with your friends and family to join in and celebrate everything that's great about being Australian

8am - 11am

Stay cool in King George Gardens this year, as we celebrate Australia Day. The official event will include a flag raising, awards, citizenship ceremony, followed by live entertainment by Neil Higgins and a FREE BBQ morning tea, proudly cooked by the Wangaratta Lions Club. The 2015 address will be delivered by Keith Adamson.

Keith Adamson is a AFS Former Deputy Chief Fire Officer who has been a professional fire-fighter for over 37 years with the Metropolitan Fire Brigade - Melbourne

Mr Adamson has been awarded the Australian Fire Services Medal in the Queen's Birthday Honours list in 1991 and has managed many of the departments in the MFB. Since appointment of Assistant Chief Fire Officer/Director in 1990 Mr Adamson has held positions of Director Human Resources, Director Emergency Response, Director Corporate Relations, Director Office of the CEO and Director Community Safety (current).
