The Alexandra and District Open Gardens weekend is a longstanding and successful event in north central Victoria.

Just a two hour drive from Melbourne and within easy access of the Hume Highway and Yarra Valley, the district boasts stunning landscapes as our gardens display a spectacular burst of spring growth.

This is a favourite and popular event for garden enthusiasts from interstate and throughout Victoria. It was awarded the Murrindindi Shire 2012 Event of the Year.

2014 marks the 23rd year of the Alexandra and District Open Gardens Weekend.

Exotic trees and shrubs thrive in this region, along with sensational native species. A broad range of enthusiasts' gardens as well as some professionally designed, are included in the carefully selected gardens open to the public. Other community groups participate in weekend, the historic Dove Cottage will be open, local musical groups will be on-hand to entertain, other talks and exhibitions will be organised as we get closer to October, 2014.

You will have access to some wonderful town and farm gardens throughout the Alexandra district. After a weekend in crisp spring sunshine, gardens bursting with colour and stunning natural landscapes, you will find yourself refreshed.
