Now in its fourth year, La Fiera returns to Myrtleford in May.

The festival commences Friday, May 25 with a performance of Emma Celebrazione, a witty and poignant play based on the life of an Italian woman who migrated to Western Australia with her family in 1939.

On Saturday, May 26 the Food & Wine Festa will introduce you to the local wines and traditional dishes including live 'Nonni in Cucina' cooking demonstrations. There will also be a procession and Mass in honour of St. Anthony of Padua and that evening a concert of Italian choral works ranging from the baroque to arias, madrigals, medieval love songs and other gems. The Italian Connection Trophy Motor Rally will also arrive and will hold a motorkhana in the Myrtleford Savoy Club car park.

On the Sunday, the wining and dining continues. Join the 'Tastes of Trentino', a wonderful feast of regional food and wine from the Trentino region in northern Italy. As you enjoy your meal watch a re-enactment of the Living Chess Match first played in 1454 in Marostica near Venice. Alternatively, wine lovers can book a coach tour of small boutique wineries not usually open to the public with an Italian barbecue provided during the lunch break. During the day there will also be soccer matches and a bocce competition.

Other things to take in will be an exhibit about the lives of Italian soldiers imprisoned in a camp near Myrtleford during the Second World War and an art exhibition. Two local wineries will be matching wines to special Italian dishes and restaurants will be featuring very tempting menus..

This will truly be a weekend of fun - The Italian Way!
