For the 128th time, the quiet hamlet of Tolmie in north-east Victoria will transform into a hive of activity when the Tolmie Sports kicks off on Saturday, 8th February 2014.
Expect to see all your favourites - the woodchop, equestrian events, Trixie the Clown, face painting, novelty and foot races, handball, ball in the barrel, sheaf tossing competitions, dog jump and the premier event, the Three Man Challenge.
A change to pricing sees all activities covered in the entry fee, once inside there is no more shelling out for handball, egg toss,....you get the idea.
The wood chop will stage an additional event, the Victorian Double-Handed Saw Championships. This is the premier event in Victoria for this category and can only be seen this year at the Tolmie Sports.
A selection of food and beverage stalls will be available to tempt all tastes. For those who like to create their own Masterchef masterpieces, try your hand at creating the top Tolmie Tart - sweet or savoury. And kids, let your imagination go wild and decorate a cup cake to impress our judge.
A new food and drink precinct will centralise most food and drink offerings. Tables and chairs will be available for patrons sit, eat and drink and take in the atmosphere under the beautiful old eucalypts.
If you still have some energy, the traditional Bush Dance will be held in the Tolmie Hall starting at 7.30pm. NE band "Jigid" will provide the music and step through the dances for those needing a refresher, so no experience necessary!
The Tolmie Sports is generously supported by local businesses of Tolmie and Mansfield, and all profits are returned to the community.
