Fo Guang Yuan Art Gallery brings world class art works and collections rich with cultural and artistic value to the people of Melbourne. The art gallery focuses on showcasing traditional and contemporary concepts of Eastern philosophy through its extensive and varied collections of painting, sculptures, calligraphy, embroidery, pottery, decorative arts and antiques from local and international artists and collectors.

The collection is based on the ideal of the Grand Master Venerable Hsing Yun in promoting Humanistic Buddhism and building a pure land. The Grand Master aims to bring the appreciation of tradition and contemporary, the rich concepts and culture of Buddhism through the various images presented in the colourful and inspiring artwork.

The integrity and profundity of life is reflected in art, which is a communication of the mind. It brings insight and harmony among the diversity in this wonderful meeting of East and West.

Set in the heart of Melbourne, the gallery transposes art and cultural appreciation into a whole new experience as it offers a tranquil oasis from the stress of today's city environment. Apart from viewing the series of world-class exhibitions, one can also enjoy special blends of teas and vegetarian refreshments offered at the Tea House.
