The Portland Hotel and James Squire Brewhouse is an iconic pub and brewery located in the heart of Melbourne city centre.

The venue mixes bar, brewery and restaurant to provide a warm and welcoming atmosphere in a traditional pub environment.

We have the only working micro-brewery in Melbourne city centre and offer guided sessions through the brewery to learn all about the how we craft the beer from the grain mill to the tap.

Brewhouse award winning original brews include: the Portland Pale Ale, the Brewhouse flagship The Highwayman thrice hopped red ale, The Craic traditional Irish stout and the speculator robust hop heavy American Pale Ale.

Visitors can enjoy one of the Brewhouse's famous "Six beer tasting paddles" with accompanying tasting notes, a must when visiting the Brewhouse for the first time.

Free brewery tours are conducted on the weekends and private tours can be arranged by appointment.
