The Yarra River has always been central to Melbourne's history. In the early 19th century Melbourne was a remote colonial outpost and the Yarra River was a vital trade link for cutters and steamships. Melbourne's birthplace was on the banks of the Yarra and today these banks are experiencing a new explosion of growth.

After a meal, you continue on upstream, under the Bolte Bridge and through to Melbourne's lively downtown. Kayak past swanky Crown Casino and alongside stylish Southbank.
