This stunning Kayak Melbourne tour of Melbourne starts off on the banks of the Yarra River in central Melbourne across from the Convention Centre and the famous Polly Woodside tall ship.

Discover why Melbourne has been voted one of the world's most bike friendly cities as you start the tour pedalling along the spectacular Yarra trail track. The tour is almost entirely on safe scenic bike paths and takes in all the iconic sights of the city and many hidden secrets. Your local guide shares insightful commentary and stops for great photo opportunities along the way.

You will get a real feel for Melbourne's character as you pedal past the legendary Melbourne Cricket Ground, Rod Laver Arena, Fitzroy Gardens, Federation Square, Victorian Parliament Buildings and Queen Victoria Market. Your guide will give you a unique insider's take on the city as you pedal through graffiti covered alleys and get the scoop on the hip cafés, bars and shops along the way.

The tour uses unique "urban" bikes that are light, compact, manoeuvrable, easy to use and fun to ride. As Melbourne is mainly flat this tour is manageable for all levels and appropriate for ages 10 and up.

Kayak Melbourne offers unique guided kayak tours in the heart of Melbourne. Their most popular is the "Moonlight Kayak Tour" - This evening exploration of Melbourne by kayak is not to be missed. It's a great way to not only get a feel for Melbourne but to also experience the city from a unique perspective.

Melbourne's Yarra River is an excellent location for novice paddlers to experience kayaking for the first time. No kayaking experience is needed to enjoy the tour; their patient guides will be with you every step of the way. With a new fleet of extremely stable Sea Bear sea kayaks, the experience will be even easier for first-time paddlers.

The Yarra River has always been central to Melbourne's history. In the early 19th century Melbourne was a remote colonial outpost and the Yarra River was a vital trade link for cutters and steamships. Melbourne's birthplace was on the banks of the Yarra and today these banks are experiencing a new explosion of growth.

Kayak Melbourne trips starts in Victoria Harbor, located in the Docklands. After a safety brief there will be an introduction to paddling techniques that will allow you to get maximum enjoyment from the tour. Get acquainted with your kayak as you explore the Docklands area before tucking into some tasty fish-n-chips, a special "on water" dining experience.

After a meal, you continue on upstream, under the Bolte Bridge and through to Melbourne's lively downtown. Kayak past swanky Crown Casino and alongside stylish Southbank. Paddle by iconic Flinders Street Railway Station and beneath historic Princess Bridge before arriving at the approach to Melbourne's enormous sporting precinct.

The tour ends at the boat landing area at Southgate, right in the heart of Melbourne, and directly across the river from Federation Square.
