Join the AWCCI (Australian Women Chamber of Commerce) at their International Women's Day lunch if you believe self-employed women deserve a fair go in business.
Jane Caro (award winning advertising writer and Destroy the Joint campaigner) will be the host along with a panel of authorities to discuss why women are excluded from supply chains and how we can change the statistics.
World Bank data illustrates that women procure only 1% of all contracts even though women own around 40 per cent of businesses. And although supply chains are made up of providers that deliver information, resources, products and/or services to other businesses, the majority of women in business don't have access to contracts.
In the USA, 5% of all Federal Government contracts must go to women business owners. In Australia the Federal Treasury refuses to provide information on how much of the nine billion dollars' worth of contracts are obtained by women each year.
Join the conversation and find out why the minority get the majority and what we need to do to change the status quo.
