Join the Thai community as they celebrate and showcase their rich and historical culture with two days of fun filled with the sights, tastes and sounds of Thailand!!
The 11th Annual Festival was bigger and better than ever before, expanding to a two day event in 2014.
Starting on Saturday 15 March with "Thai Street Culture by the River" on the River Terrace at Federation Square experience Thai Street food and Thai barbecue, Thai massage and products, live music at the Singha Beer Garden and lots of fun and activities.
On Sunday 16 March the Thai Culture and Food Festival began with a traditional blessing by Buddhist monks, and an opening ceremony. Federation Square will be transformed into a haven of Thai culture together with the 'Thai Temple Fun Fair ' showcasing Thai arts, crafts, massage, games and more. Travel and general Information about Thailand and its people was available to answer all your questions!
There was continuous entertainment on stage with performances of Thai dance, Thai kickboxing and Miss Thailand beauty contest, Thai market and Product stalls selling Thai produce.
30 performers direct from Thailand plus local talent. The River Terrace at Fed Square was bedecked with food tents featuring 20 of Melbourne's premier Thai restaurants serving Thai delicacies and highlighting regional food and drink specialities as well as the famous Singha Beer garden and music stage and Muay Thai demonstration performances all afternoon in the Deakin Edge theatre.
The Festival attracted 65,000 people to Federation Square last year - it is a fun-filled family event and it is free!
