Be part of the celebrations as Fed Square comes alive for the Vietnamese Children's Lantern Festival.

The Vietnamese Lantern Festival is a widely celebrated cultural event in Vietnam which brings families together to celebrate the full moon with dancing, singing, storytelling, a lantern parade and children's lantern-making workshops.

The Lantern Festival coincides with the Mid-Autumn Festival, which is a popular East Asian celebration dating back over 3,000 years to China's Zhou Dynasty. In Malaysia and Singapore it is also referred to as the Moon or Mooncake Festival.

There are many traditional activities that make up the celebrations including, eating moon cakes under the moon, carrying brightly-lit lanterns, burning incense, planting trees, collecting dandelion leaves sharing them with family members and Fire Dragon dances.

Join this multicultural feast as the sun rests for the day and the moon rises.
