The gallery's unique program of new commissions and exhibitions has established its international reputation as one in a cluster of galleries around the world producing ambitious new artworks with living artists.

Australian Centre for Contemporary Art is located on Sturt Street in one of Melbourne's most spectacular buildings and centrally located just five minutes walk from the National Gallery Victoria on Saint Kilda Road.

Each exhibition is accompanied by a program of free public talks, tours, workshops and special events. Australian Centre for Contemporary Art closes briefly between exhibitions for installation.

From Flinders Street Station, it is a 10 minute walk across Princess Bridge. Tram Route one Sturt Street Stop number 18 to the front door. Tram Routes three, five, eight, 16, 64, 67, 72. Grant Street and Saint Kilda Road Stop number 17 then a two minute walk down Grant Street On street metered parking available in Grant Street and commercial car parks are located at the Victorian Arts Centre and the Australian Ballet Centre.
