Come explore with Foodie Trails the flavours of Indian food, learn about the spices and the regions and delight your palette. The opportunity to learn from the experts the uses of the spices in the various foods and their benefits.
The story starts with the arrival of the Indian community in Australia and how their aromatic spices were stirred into Modern Australian cuisine. Continuing to the subtly spiced rice based cuisine of South India, guests will travel through the cuisines of India in all their variety and diversity down to the rich Punjabi food spiced with garam masala of the north and conclude with an offering of Indian deserts like you've never experienced before.
Inclusions in this tour are sampling Indian cuisine at an Indian café, visiting an Indian grocery shop and the opportunity to learn about the Indian spices. Also, a progressive three course lunch at Indian restaurants and cafes. The tours is three hours duration and runs between Melbourne City and the 'Little India' precinct of Dandenong.
