Golden Mile Melbourne Heritage Walks

Melbourne Golden Mile Walking Tours, Golden Mile Heritage Walk provides participants with an opportunity to share in the guides' great knowledge and particular secrets as the Trail marches along Collins Street.

Take a sneak peek inside the elegant Gothic interiors of the ANZ bank, the plush European-style hotels and into the austere but commanding inner recesses of Melbourne Town Hall and Parliament House.

Visit the hidden laneways and arcades. Find the discreet doorway leading to Royal Arcade leading to international designer boutiques and be indulged with a special chocolate treat.

The guides, through vivid interpretation, throw colour into the walk. The trail passes through Chinatown where every nook and cranny holds a surprise. It is home to the world's longest dragon, numerous quaint shops, restaurants and the Chinese Museum displaying the Chinese connection to Melbourne and her riches.

The guides expose the seedy past on the Grande Old Lady, Melbourne showing where the pimps and prostitutes added to the chaos of the boom town with stories of the fashionable Madame Brussels and mysterious disappearance of gold plated mace of the Legislative Assembly. The tour concludes at Australia's World Heritage listed Royal Exhibition Building.
