Make the Cape Schanck Lighthouse your base whilst you discover the Mornington Peninsula. On the light station grounds are three cottages and the separate inspectors room with ensuite no cooking (two one bedroom and two three bedroom with two queen size beds). Maximum 22 persons.

All cottages have been residences of the Lighthouse Keepers. Breakfast is supplied if required. The old stables can be used for group meals and communal activities. The three bedroom cottages have open fire places. One three bedroom cottage and the Museum Cottage has split system air-conditioning.

Tours of Cape Schanck Lighthouse with its beacon functioning, offers visitors a unique glimpse of the past. The historic light is one of the few still operating as it did during the early 1800's. The Light Station is open every day of the year for tours up the lighthouse or in the museum.

Light keepers Basket is either lunch or dinner with local produce can be supplied for a picnic.

Groups can have an evening barbecue meal served in the old carriage stables and view the magnificent sunset during the summer months.

Activities you might like to do are the boardwalk, for breathtaking ocean views. Explore the secret places at Cape Schanck, or unwind with a glass of wine while the sun disappears. The following morning pack a picnic lunch and head off to Bushrangers Bay.

You may see kangaroos in the hills, or see a Great Southern Right Whale surface to say hello along with the seals and dolphins.

A walk to Fingal Beach taking in some magical views or if you have more energy, you can also walk the cliff tops to Gunnamatta Surf Beach. You can go rock climbing, perhaps go diving or snorkelling, the rock pools at the bottom of the Board walk are spectacular.

Lightkeepers Cottage (white)

Three bedrooms including two queen beds and four single beds. Original 1859 cottage separate lounge with an open fire place and Full Kitchen with Fridge Stove oven and microwave. Barbecue outside. Large Veranda looking to a bush setting, three minute walk to ocean views of bass straight sitting on top of 80 meter cliff. Air conditioned with two queen beds and four single beds

Inspectors Room

Motel style room off veranda of Head light 'keeper's cottage. Ensuite bathroom, queen size bed. Barbecue facilities available. Tea and Coffee facilities with microwave oven and fridge, Air conditioning. From your window you will see open bushland surrounding the Light Station. A short stroll to magnificent Views of Bass Strait.

Museum Cottage

Museum Cottage is a romantic cottage with lovely single bedroom cottage with queen bed and two single beds. Fully self contained with kitchen and lounge room and private bathroom facilities. The best location on the Lighthouse station grounds. Out the back door you are just 15 steps away from magnificent views of Bass Strait. Perfect sitting at sunset with a glass of champagne.

Red Cottage

Three bedrooms including two queen beds and four single beds. (Please bring your own cot.) Separate lounge and Full Kitchen with Fridge Stove oven and microwave. Barbecue outside. Air-conditioned and open fire place in the lounge room. Great Sun room, looking out to the northern views. View of light station grounds. Veranda faces west. Few steps walk to magnificent views of Bass Straight and the rugged coast line. Large grass playing area. Air conditioned.

Cancellation and booking policy

Deposit of 100 per cent is required on booking . A cancellation fee of 50 per cent of booking being applied to your credit card if booking is cancelled thirty days before arrival. No refund if cancelled under thirty days. Change of date is a cancellation of the booking of the original date. Thirteen per cent administrative fee applies to all cancellations.Please note that bookings include Tax of 10 per cent.

From the end of the Mornington Peninsula Freeway turn left at Boneo Road. Travel past the RACV Country Club Golf Course and turn right at Cape Schanck Road. At the end of Cape Schanck Road go into the car park to the kiosk.
