A very full day out with Vinetrekker with emphasis on a wide range of wine accompanied by superb food and hinterland scenery.
Travel through to the south-east and visit the small, family owned Tanglewood Estate Vineyard at Merricks North. One of the older vineyards on the peninsula, enjoy a stroll around the vineyard and winery prior to a tasting of their wines and cheese in the rustic cellar door.
Close by is the Willow Creek Vineyard, a more commercial operation. Enjoy a tasting of their beautifully crafted wines before settling in to a superb a la carte lunch at Salix, enhanced by the ceiling to floor glass and vineyard views.
After lunch, visit the quirky Balnarring Vineyard which is known for some of the more unusual varieties on the peninsula before travelling down to Flinders to taste the flavoursome delights at Mornington Peninsula Chocolates. Using fresh, local ingredients with Belgian and Swiss chocolate the flavours pack a punch and a little bit goes a long way.
On days when the Red Hill Cheesery is open (weekends), you will conclude the day there with artisan goats and cows milk cheeses, otherwise Stonier Wines is a terrific replacement.
