International Cool Climate Wine Show is an annual wine show offering participants and sponsors the opportunity of being involved in a world class event.
Showcasing the best cool climate wines, the event attracts winemakers, vineyard owners, sommeliers and wine enthusiasts from around the world.
The Red Hill Agricultural and Horticultural Society established the Cool Climate Wine Show in 2000 to help benchmark cool climate wines. Entries have increased from 373 in the first show to 650 in 2013.
The 2014 event will again have European entries which will attract interest and publicity.
The aims of the Wine Show:
- To raise the profile of cool climate wines
- To judge comparable wines in an open competition format
- To emphasise the styles predominantly produced from grapes grown in cool climates
- To highlight quality, aged wines from cool climates

Additional business information
The awards presentation dinner has consistently attracted well over 200 ‘key players’ in the wine industry (250 in 2011) and is now an icon occasion on the wine calendar. The serving of the wine and food is undertaken by supervised TAFE hospitality students with a very high degree of competence and efficiency. All 650 odd entries in the wine show are available for sampling at the dinner. They are unaware of any other event which affords the opportunity of tasting and comparing such a huge range of wines, accompanied by a first class dinner, planned to showcase regional produce. The 2013 awards dinner will be held at the Mornington Racing Club, Racecourse Road, Mornington. Please arrive at 7pm for a 7.30 start. Tickets can be purchased individually or for tables of ten. Numbers will be limited and entrants are encouraged to make reservations at the time of entry or use the entry form. The cost of the dinner is $120 per person.
