Corowa Shire is steeped in history, playing a significant role in the 1901 Federation of Australia. The Federation Story Self Guided Walking Tour around the historic buildings of Corowa tells the story of the Birthplace of Federation; including where the original conference was held to put into place the proposal that started the wheels in motion to declare Australia a Federation.

A self-guided historical map is available from the Corowa Visitor Information Centre and gives you the history of the beautiful old buildings in the town and their significance to The Federation Story, with a detailed map pointing out the historic buildings and sites.

Self-guided walks are available at all times. You can pick up your free walking map up from the Corowa Visitor Information Centre open Monday to Friday 10am to 5pm, Saturday 10am to 3pm and Sunday 10am to 1pm.
