Get some perspective and escape the noise and pressures of the concrete jungle. Less than an hour (from the Melbourne CBD) you can be SkyHigh - on the uppermost reach of the Dandenong Ranges, amid cool fern glades and lush towering (native) forest, looking at the big picture, from the Mornington Peninsula across the majestic sweep of Port Phillip Bay, surrounded by Melbourne's growing urban fringes, to the You Yangs on the southern horizon.

After sunset the southern sky, brilliant in the clear mountain night, is imitated by a spectacular carpet of city light. First established as a survey point in 1861 this historic area, which has recently undergone a lavish and sympathetic redevelopment, affords a unique overview of Greater Melbourne.

Enjoy the unparalleled vista from the SkyHigh Bistro or fire up a public barbecue; spread a rug and picnic on the elevated viewing terrace. SkyHigh has something for the whole family including:
- English garden
- Australiana Tree
- Percy Possums House
- Giant's Chair
- adventurous SkyHigh Maze
- trail walks in the Dandenong Ranges
- National Park
- wishing tree
- Arthur Streaton Monument
- viewing binoculars
- cake and coffee
- devonshire tea

SkyHigh Mount Dandenong Wins Major Tourism Victoria Award
The hard work has paid off with the news that State Tourism Minister John Pandazopolous presented an Encouragement Award to the SkyHigh Mount Dandenong team at the prestigious Melbourne Airport 2005 Victorian Tourism Awards. The awards showcase Victoria's finest tourism operators in categories ranging from major festivals and events to unique accommodation. The Minister's personal choice of SkyHigh Mount Dandenong as the most deserving recipient of the Encouragement Award comes as confirmation that their spectacular $4 million make-over has been officially recognised as creating the wonderful tourist attraction that has already been a huge hit with locals, interstate and international visitors. After just 10 months of operation, it seems that the future of SkyHigh Mount Dandenong can only get brighter. Now there are many reasons to visit SkyHigh Mount Dandenong: * Viewing platforms with stunning views across Melbourne * Barbecues and picnic areas - perfect venues for a family outing * Magnificent gardens and walks with an abundance of native flora and fauna - including SkyHigh's resident kookaburras * The SkyHigh garden maze - constructed from native fauna - that will soon be open to the public * A contemporary licensed family bistro First established as a survey point in 1861, this historic area has since undergone a lavish, yet sympathetic development, to give the estimated 650,000 annual visitors more to do and greater access to the stunning views that sweep across Mornington Peninsula and Port Phillip Bay, to the You Yangs on the Southern horizon. After sunset, the twinkle of stars is imitated below by a spectacular carpet of city lights. Although it is less than an hour from the Melbourne CBD, SkyHigh Mount Dandenong is a million miles from the hustle and bustle - the perfect spot for that family occasion, or more intimate romantic interlude.
