Come and enjoy a Heritage Railway Ride from Healesville Station through the beautiful Yarra Valley to the 150 metre long brick tunnel. Bring your family on the 40 minute return trip. The kids will love the ride with a tunnel, the eagle's nest and possible kangaroos along the way. Before and after your trip you can relax in front of the fire with a cappuccino while the kids enjoy themselves on the extensive children's adventure play ground at the front of the station.

Group bookings involve a minimum cost and should be made at least three days in advance. One ride can cater for a maximum of 50 passengers. For groups with more than 50 passengers, two trips can be made. Refreshments including soft drinks, cappuccino, tea, hot chocolate and snacks are on sale in the station kiosk. Morning and afternoon tea or salad meals can be arranged on request.

Night Owls - travel under the stars along the track to see the sights and hear the sounds of the valley at night. The ride returns for a meal. Ask about the Night Owl Specials, meal and ride deal.

Local directions

Coming from Lilydale Entering Healesville follow the Maroondah Hwy and turn left onto the Kinglake Road (2nd after the Shell petrol station). Entry of the station is on the right hand side opposite the Information Centre. Coming from Yarra Glen At the end of the Healesville -Yarra Glen Road turn right and follow the Kinglake Road in the direction of the Information Centre. Entry to the station is past the railway crossing on the left hand side opposite the Information Centre.

A round trip departs Healesville station every hour on the hour. Night Owl Specials, night rides under the stars with a meal can be arranged for groups. (Group booking required) Group bookings involve a minimum cost and should be made at least 3 days in advance of travel for non- scheduled days. Minimum cost of charter for groups is $250. Normal fares apply. One ride can cater for a maximum of 50 passengers. For groups with more than 50 passengers, two trips can be made. A round trip takes 40 minutes to complete.
