Bring family and friends and experience the ways of YesterYear at Mont De Lancey in the Wandin draught horse and machinery festival weekend.

This weekend festival incorporates a fascinating range of people with olden day skills and equipment from yester-year.

Draught horses: these beautiful horses can be seen ploughing fields, raking and bailing hay working with their skilled handlers showing how farmers worked the land in yester-year.

Vintage machinery: an amazing collection of working agricultural machinery featuring stationary engines, pumps, early tractors, and other relics of our agricultural heritage.

Vintage cars: here's a chance to admire a diverse range of classic cars from the past. Many of the owners are happy to talk about what makes their car special.

Blacksmiths: the working blacksmith shop will have the forges fired up making a range of both practical and artistic items. The large blacksmith shop with ample double forges is the home of a thriving blacksmiths group. Novice and experienced blacksmiths practising this old craft is a feature of this weekend.

Wood Turning: see skilled craftsmen demonstrating the art of wood-turning using beautiful timbers which they turn into a variety of delightful creations.

Chainsaw Wood Carving: watch Robby carving with his chainsaw to transform a block of wood into a beautiful sculpture. Robby Bast is based in the Yarra Valley has created works for venues all over Australia plus Healesville sanctuary which included a platypus which was commissioned for the opening of the platypus pavilion.

Working sheep dog displays: watch these handlers with their amazing dogs herd sheep and geese

Wool spinning: see a local group of spinners practising this age old craft

The Mont De Lancey Pioneer Homestead property gives a vision of what it was like to live in yester-year.
