The Blue Lotus Water Garden has grown to cover over 50,000 square metres (14 acres) featuring thousands of exotic lotus flowers and waterlilies all set amongst hundreds of banana palms and other beautiful sub tropical plants. Features include two main lakes, one with ten islands connected by twelve bridges including three arched bridges, plus dozens of ponds full with thousands of flowers and other exotic water plants. See the 2,000 year old Japanese Lotus and the Charles Winch waterlily enclosure containing the largest tropical waterlilies in the world.New in 2016 are two giant lotus flower sculpture fountains, a fairy garden and ice cream hut for the kids.Feature plant enclosures include the Giant Amazon Lily with lily pads up to 1.7 metres across (Australia's biggest leaf) and the Crocodile Plant - another type of giant waterlily from Asia. The rare plants pavilion features rare flowering plants from around Australia and the world.Experience the native environment of the Little Yarra River on the River Walk - walk amongst the magical tree ferns and majestic river gums, some up to 100 feet tall. Learn about and maybe catch a glimpse of the local native wildlife like one of the resident platypuses. Or spot one of Australia's iconic native birds such as a great egret, cockatoo, kookaburra, kingfisher, honey eater, rosella, parrot, hawk or wedge-tailed eagle. Relax and take in the beauty of the Garden from dozens of picnic shelters (seating for over 400 people), visit the kiosk where you can buy refreshments and light meals or stop at the new ice cream hut with scooped ice cream and cold drinks. Coin operated park barbecues. Two toilet blocks with disabled and baby change facilities. Drinking water bubblers and easy walking tracks in the garden. Large retail plant nursery and garden shops.

Walker and assisted wheelchair friendly paths to most attractions in the garden. As well as one disabled toilet.
