Lake Mountain is Melbourne's closest and most affordable alpine resort, offering a mountain of fun all year round.

From June to September, Lake Mountain transforms into a winter wonderland providing an ideal first time snow experience. Offering over 30 kilometres of trails for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing, with an abundance of snow play areas and toboggan runs. A range of adventure activities are also available, including a dual 240 metre flying fox, outdoor laser skirmish and an exhilarating tube run.

Snowmaking facilities ensure a guaranteed snow cover for snow play and tobogganing throughout the season, regardless of temperature or natural snow conditions.

The Snowsports School and Fischer Nordic Demo Centre confirm Lake Mountain's position as the premier cross-country skiing mountain, with world-class instructors and equipment bringing skiers back year after year.

During the warmer months the trails are great for walking, with many scenic lookouts, spectacular wildflowers and regenerating forest.

Lake Mountain is popular for both mountain biking and road cycling during green season. Stunning landscape, granite boulders and sweeping vistas, provide visual appeal and exciting terrain that lends itself to an authentic mountain biking experience. With 25 kilometres of relaxed ski trails to explore and 25 kilometres of challenging single track there is sure to be plenty of terrain to suit all ages and levels of ability.

As the closest of the Seven Peaks to Melbourne that form part of the Alpine Ascent Challenge, the Lake Mountain climb presents riders with a challenging 20.78 kilometre ascent.

The Alpine Burger Bar is open Friday to Monday during the green season, offering visitors delicious burgers, local coffee and wines.
