Marysville Lake Mountain Visitor Information Centre is nestled in the foothills of Melbourne's closest alpine resort, with towns such as Buxton, Taggerty and Narbethong only a short drive away. Located only a 90 minute drive from Melbourne, Marysville and surrounds is an ideal destination for adventure, food, wine and getting back to nature.

Marysville was established in 1863 as a stopover for diggers on the way to nearby goldfields. In the 1920s Marysville evolved into a popular honeymoon and resort town, with many guesthouses offering a range of accommodation options. Since that time Marysville has thrived as a tourist town.

Make the Marysville region your base for bushwalking, trout and salmon fishing, golf, arts and crafts during the warmer months and enjoy skiing, tobogganing and snow play at nearby Lake Mountain during the winter months. Come and be part of one of the seasonal events calendar including music festivals, markets, art shows and food and wine events.

The picturesque drive from Melbourne to Marysville is part of the appeal. Take the Eastern Freeway through to Ringwood, then follow the Maroondah Highway through Lilydale and Healesville and across the scenic Black Spur to Narbethong.
